With the fitness and weight loss industry being swamped with options nowadays it is easy to find something to help you improve. This is a good thing. Billions of pounds are spent annually on health and fitness proving it is important to most of us to be healthy.
But before you look into spending some money on a gym, a slimming club etc how about just doing the basics well each day.
Here’s some idea’s:
Food: Take control of your intake using a simple App. My Fitness Pal is a great example but there are others out there. Find one, commit to it and already you are in control of what calories go in.
If you also have an activity tracker (Fitbit, Garmin, Apple Watch etc) then you can track your calories burnt.
It is that easy. Calories in vs Calories burnt means you can control your weight. Being in control feels good right?
Exercise: There are endless bodyweight movements that can be done at home. Here are 10 that you can do daily.
- Push ups
- Squats
- Squat jumps
- Lunges
- Mountain climbers
- High Knees
- Butt Kicks
- Tricep dips (chair)
- Plank
- Sit ups (military)
If you are not sure how to do any of the movements simply go to Youtube where you’ll find a selection of hot fit-pro’s eager to show you how to correctly do each exercise.
All you need is a small space and a bit of motivation. Maybe do 5 exercises per day (15-20 mins max) and alternate. Do it 6 days a week and have one day off. In no time at all you will become stronger and fitter without spending a penny.
